A little help. A lot of imagination.
Artwork & image quality
A clear picture and a quick spelling check make personalisation easier. Start with the choices offered by your design.
Clear edges
Names and fine details stay easy to see. Look for this clarity in your original file.
Blurry edges
A larger print makes missing detail more obvious. Enlarging cannot restore it.
The same artwork, with blur added on the right to illustrate file quality. These are not printed samples.
Choosing from our designs? Use the name and other controls shown on the product page. You do not need to make your own artwork file for a Colour-In design. Full Colour ordering is coming soon. You can view the design previews, but they are not available to order yet.
Check the name before the picture
Replace any example name. Read the spelling, capital letters and punctuation, then check the whole preview for cut-off words or details you did not intend. Use the product's text options where offered so the lettering stays clear.
If a product offers an upload
An upload is available only when the individual product shows that option. These image-quality tips do not mean every design accepts a photo or file.
- Use the original photo or artwork at its largest available size.
- Avoid screenshots, tiny thumbnails and pictures saved from social media when you have the original.
- Choose a subject that is in focus and well lit. Leave enough space around anything you want to keep.
- Zoom in before uploading. If edges already look blurry or blocky, a larger print will usually make that more noticeable.
A simple file check
Follow the file types and size limit shown by the product's uploader. An original JPG is often useful for photos; a PNG can keep a transparent background for artwork. Renaming a file or changing its resolution label does not improve the original detail.
A white background is part of a picture unless it has been removed. The background needed depends on the product and design; tell us which product you have in mind rather than assuming it will disappear.
A preview is a useful check
Check faces, words and small details, and use only images you own or have permission to use. Screen colours can differ from the finished product. A mockup is not a measurement of the physical print or the garment's fit; use the product details and its own size guide.
Unsure about an image? Contact us before ordering. Tell us which product you mean and describe the image. The form does not accept attachments; we can explain how to share a file when we reply.
